Virtuosi of Houston Small Ensemble Performances Program

In addition to producing three full chamber orchestra concerts each year, Virtuosi of Houston features a Small Ensemble Performance Program in which students perform recitals  in smaller groups (quartets, trios, duos and solos) throughout the community, at venues including public libraries, museums, private parties, outdoor events, and weddings.

For some events, the musicians perform free of charge, while for others—weddings, parties, and other social occasions—they play for a modest honorarium.  These honoraria provide the students with much-needed funds for their music-education expenses, as well as for instrument maintenance and upgrades. 

In addition to performance experience, the students develop leadership skills and gain responsibility through valuable interaction with one another.  Under the guidance of the maestros, the students who participate in the Ensemble Program are professionally coached by practicing professionals in preparation for these performances.
