Development Manager
The Development Manager reports to the board president and is responsible for the annual execution of the development plan in close coordination with the president and the board.
The successful candidate will have:

  • 2-3 years of experience in fundraising campaign management, including, but not limited to campaign planning, implementation, and administration, as well as database management and relationship building. 
  • Excellent grant writing skills.  Writing samples will be required in order to be considered for this position.
  • The ability to multi-task and work independently on projects and in a team environment with administrative, marketing, and management staff members.
  • Clearly articulate both verbally and in written form the mission, vision and goals of  the organization.
  • An understanding of budget management and reporting.
  • The ability to attend special events and performance evenings and weekends
  • A good working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Publisher.
  • Experience with  donor database

Administrative Assistant
Summary:
Provides administrative support to the President/CEO, Director of Development and Orchestra Manager

Essential Job Functions:

  • Perform clerical and coordinative duties including, but not limited to, the following:
    • screen incoming phone calls
    • manage individual calendars as needed and a consolidated calendar for senior staff; set appointments as needed
    • prepare correspondence
    • create and maintain donor/prospect database records
    • enter transaction into fund accounting system as needed
    • develop lists and perform mail merges
    • maintain electronic and paper files
  • Assist with donor benefit fulfillment
  • Manage and maintain spreadsheets
  • Attend performances, rehearsals, donor receptions and events, as required
  • Perform additional duties as required by Virtuosi of Houston

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Ability to multi-task in a busy work environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Outlook, Publisher and PowerPoint
  • Experience with database software a plus
  • Excellent written, verbal and organizational skills and professional phone manner
