For many of our young musicians, this concert marks their debut with Virtuosi of Houston. This concert also marks the conducting debut of Monzer Hourani, a member of our board and a major benefactor of our organization. His passion for classical music and the training of young talent for the future of the art form is extraordinary. The dramatic impact that classical music made on his life as a young boy who suffered the loss of an immediate family member during a civil war is incredible and inspirational. Mr. Hourani is dedicating his performance tonight in tribute to children throughout the world who have experienced war.
